The “Interessegemeinschaft Vermarktung Lëtzebuerger Biofleesch a.s.b.l” was founded in July 2010 by 15 organic farmers. Under their own brand “Biomaufel”, consumers can be sure that they are buying high-quality meat from organic cattle, pork, chicken or sheep farming and that they are supporting organic farms based in Luxembourg. “Biomaufel” production is subject to strict guidelines for keeping the animals in a manner appropriate to their species and giving them feed that is largely produced on the farm itself. Certification and inspection are carried out by independent, publicly recognised bodies.
