The OIKOPOLIS group brings together important organic actors who cooperate closely with each other under its umbrella: the “Bio-Bauere-Genossenschaft” (BIOG), the “BIOG-Molkerei zu Käerjeng”, the organic wholesaler BIOGROS and the eleven NATURATA “Bio Marchés” spread throughout the country. The nucleus of the group with the OIKOPOLIS centre in Munsbach is and remains BIOG, which was founded as early 1988 and whose basic cooperative principle has significantly promoted the growth of the processing and marketing of Luxembourg organic and Demeter products. In addition to production and marketing, BIOG provides a wide range of products in its NATURATA shops through certified goods brought in from other EU countries, with up to 8,000 articles in the organic food and natural cosmetics sector. In the BIOG dairy, up to three million litres of organic milk can be bottled and processed into high-quality dairy products every year. For 25 years, BIOGROS has been supplying organic products to the retail trade, the catering trade, large-scale catering/canteens, and also small local shops. The wholesaler is intensively engaged in waste avoidance, sustainable storage and avoidance of empty runs and operates special packaging facilities.

A prerequisite for admission to the “Bio-Bauere-Genossenschaft” is membership of the association “Vereenegung fir Biolandwirtschaft Lëtzebuerg”.
